While not every match hit the mark, there was far more good than bad across the two nights, culminating in one of WWE’s best main events in recent memory.

Hell in a Cell: Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 Spotlights)

Exactly the spectacle fans were hoping for. Oba Femi proved he belongs in the main event picture, while Brock Lesnar reminded everyone why he’s still one of wrestling’s biggest attractions. Brutal, physical, and worthy of the Hell in a Cell stipulation.

Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes

⭐⭐⭐ (3 Spotlights)

A solid championship match that told a good story, but never quite reached the emotional highs many expected. Good—not great.

Fatal Influence vs. The Bellas & Paige

⭐⭐ (2 Spotlights)

Unfortunately, this one never really found its rhythm. While it had some entertaining moments, it ultimately felt more like a nostalgia showcase than a standout SummerSlam match.

Gunther vs. Nick Aldis

⭐⭐⭐ (3 Spotlights)

A hard-hitting contest that showcased Gunther’s signature style. It was enjoyable throughout and finally got to showcase Nick Aldis the wrestler.

LA Knight, Solo Sikoa & Royce Keys vs. The Usos & Jacob Fatu

⭐⭐⭐ (3 Spotlights)

A fun six-man tag that kept the crowd engaged and furthered several ongoing storylines. Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid addition to the card.

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 Spotlights)

One of Night 1’s biggest surprises. Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky delivered an outstanding championship match with great pacing and several believable near falls. A fantastic performance from both women.

World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Spotlights)

The Match of the Weekend.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins delivered an instant classic that combined incredible storytelling, brutal physicality, and nonstop drama. This is exactly what a SummerSlam main event should be and earns our first perfect score of the weekend.

Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match

⭐⭐⭐ (3 Spotlights)

A fun ladder match with several creative spots, and finally gave Chelsea Green her well deserved moment.

Undisputed WWE Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match

Finn Bálor vs. Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens vs. Gunther
⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 Spotlights)

A fantastic four-way contest filled with hard-hitting action and plenty of momentum swings. Every competitor had opportunities to shine, making this one of Night 2’s standout matches. Extra star for the Kevin Owens return.

United States Championship: Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin

⭐⭐½ (2.5 Spotlights)

Trick Williams and Baron Corbin never really clicked. Their timing felt off, with several botches in the match.

Intercontinental Championship: Penta vs. Chad Gable

⭐⭐⭐½ (3.5 Spotlights)

A technically excellent match that featured crisp wrestling throughout. Penta and Chad Gable proved why they’re among WWE’s best in-ring performers.

Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio — Human Monies on a Pole Match

💀 0 Spotlights

Pure darkness.

Sometimes wrestling gives us masterpieces. Other times… it gives us a Human Monies on a Pole Match. This wasn’t just the weakest match of SummerSlam—it was one of the most baffling booking decisions we’ve seen in quite some time.

Overall Thoughts

SummerSlam delivered a very enjoyable two-night event with plenty of memorable moments. Night 1 was consistently good from top to bottom, while Night 2 featured the undeniable highlight of the weekend in Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins, a match that will likely be remembered as one of WWE’s best of the year.

Not every experiment paid off, and a couple of matches fell well short of expectations, but the highs easily outweighed the lows.
